After about 4 years, I've almost physically destroyed my current watch, so I thought I'd try to pay a little bit of attention to what sort of watches other people wear to help pick a new one. Much to my surprise, about 90% of the people I saw weren't wearing a watch. So tell me then, how do you keep track of the time?

A sundial? :D

I have a Casio G-shock watch. This watch is not the most fashionable watch. It's just a trouble-free easy-use watch. It has alot of features many of which I do not use. I bought the watch for three reasons.

1) it can receive the Atomic signal to callibrate the time,
2) it has two batteries and one of the batteries is charged by the sun,
3) the casing is strong and protective.

Since I was 10 I've been wearing timex ironman watches. Went through like 3 of them since then. I right now have two. I use the timer constantly for cooking food, and timing my rides. I've tried the whole 100 dollar metal banded stylin watch. They are heavy and uncomfortable, only plus is the looks.

Between the Avaya phones at work, the Windows computers at work & at home, my alarm clock in my bedroom and my wall clock in my kitchen, plus the Cateye on my bicycle, I'm pretty well covered. Now if I could just figure out how to set the clock in the Dodge Caravan... :p

I mostly use my phone, because when I am cycling my normal watch [metal] hurts a bit in sprints or whatnot.

When the microwave goes Ding! its dinner time. Otherwise, I ask one of the cats.

I've always used watches up until recently. I've been trying to stop bothering with watches since my phone is always with me anyway.

I don't wear a watch. Everywhere I go I'm surrounded by clocks. If I don't see a clock and I really need to know what time it is, I ask someone.

I've had a G-Shock watch for many years that has been banged up, crushed, dived with, run over, smashed against rocks innumerable times and is still in perfect running order.

I don't own a watch. I go by feel. If I feel late, I usually am. But just glancing at clocks as I pass usually helps.

How does one "feel late"? Is that another woman thing?

Yes. This isn't the place to go in to it. The children, you know?

I wear a watch; feel naked without it.

On lazy weekends, sometimes I don't put it on and it drives me crazy. In that case, I use my cell phone, computer and/or wall clocks to tell the time. Or if I'm watching TV, I can hit the info button on the DirecTV remote and they tell me what time it is.

I use a combination of the first three options in the poll.

I have a watch, but my wrist swells in the heat of summer, making it uncomfortable to wear every day, and I don't wear it at home at any time.

If I don't have my watch on, I'll check my cell phone, or any clock that's around. We've got 12 clocks in our loft, not counting the computer.

Earth is composed of opposite hemispheres which rotate in opposite directions - equal to a zero value existence (plus & minus). As entity, the opposite hemispheres cancel out. Earth exist as 4 - 90 degree opposite corner quadrants, but not as a 360 degree circle. Earth is Cubic opposites, nothing as circle. A singularity inflicted scholar has not the mentality, freedom or guts to know that academia is a Trojan Horse mind control. Singularity brotherhood owns your brain, destroying your ability to think Cubicism. Evil academia blocks out Time Cube site and suppresses its discussion and debate. (http://www.timecube.com)

I dont... I just have everyone call me and tell me "hey!!! you were suppose to be here half hour ago!" that's how I keep track of time.

Wearing a watch is a little redundant. Think about it. As I am typing this I can see the time on my computer, two wall clocks, it is also on my pager on my hip and on my cell phone. So why would i need a watch?

Anywhere i go i have my cellphone, and it has the time available. I think watches are a thing of the past.

I wear a gold watch because one of my female friends said that's one of the first things a woman looks at. If you don't wear a nice watch, you are poor. So gotta wear the bling! :D

They lied to ya! it is NOT the first thing they look at!
They actually look to see if you're holding a bag that would carry some clothes:p :p

Yes, a woman that is "late" can be a scary idea!

Because they know that if you're willing to shackle yourself to such an artificial construct as time, you'd be easy prey for the shackles of marriage...

I have two dress watches. Checked them the other day and both have dead batteries. That's how much I wear them.

Cell phone acts as my defacto watch these days.

I wear a Skagen (http://www.skagen.com/) watch that my wife gave me. I really like the slim design of it and it doesn't get in the way while I'm typing at work/home. I have an Ironman which I wear out riding or doing stuff in the dirt/etc.

That said, I can go days without putting either on some times and rarely miss it since I've got the computer and/or cellphone as needed.

When dressing up, I wear a watch. If I am not carrying a cell phone, I carry a watch.

The rest of the time, I use my cellphone(s)....I have two, one company phone, and one personal phone.

Wearing a watch to tell time is like using an oven to cook a tv dinner.

Some of us aren't into what a man owns. I'm more into what is in his heart and if he is sincere. And those kind of guys are never "poor".

I have eight watches, most of them are worth more than the bike.

One of them (the Audmars Piguet), is worth more than the car.

All except two are automatic, so they don't require batteries. I am a watch afficianado. Can you tell?:)

Strangely enough, I also believe that time (the 12 hour system and calendar system) is a man made construct that doesn't reflect the reality of space-time. But I like clockworks. Go figure.
