Folding Bikes - Review of my Downtube VIIIH with internal hub (long review)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I want to add a master link to the chain on my VIIIH.
Does anyone know if this link will work?:

I am now the proud owner of the exact same VIIIH as the OP (and I mean the exact same...he sold his to me).
hey wav, would you comment on why you parted with the VIIIH? Maybe I missed it in the thread. My hunch is that your son wanted something else.

Can't say for sure, but I am using similar ones. Make sure you get the 1/8" not the 3/32nds. Non-derailleur bikes are not too fussy about master links since the chain doesn't need to move side-to-side.

Thanks. Yeah, I just measured it and the chain is a 1/8" (KMC Z6C, by the way, I couldn't find any info on this chain online).

I have made some drive line changes to both our VIIIHs. Rear sprockets 25 tooth, chainwheels 34 tooth 110 bcd, cranks Bulletproof 165, bottom brackets Shimano UN54X110 smoother and corrected our chainlines.
When folding we remove the handlebars and lay the stem across the luggage rack and secure everything with a long bungee cord.
