I think he did it all the time and he just left it on too long this once. There was no doctor involved. If there had been, the doc would have made sure he took it off before it could be detected.

I hope he didn't cheat, but playing out the night in my head I can see how it might have gone.

- Total collapse on stage 16
- Floyd is depressed from his performance, and he starts drinking that night (something he says he NEVER does while riding seriously) thinking he blew his last chance at a TDF win
- The alcohol clouds his judgement, and he decides to put on a patch of testosterone (the Moosberger method) to help heal the bonk
- He figures a) that he's out of contention anyway, b) he might as well try and make it respectable, c) since he probably won't finish on the podium the next day, his odds of being checked are low, and d) since there's a good chance this is his last TDF ever, he decides it's the only chance he has
- He falls asleep with the patch on
- Stage 17, he starts to race and has to confront the fact that after a few beers and shots, he made a BIG mistake in putting the patch on, but it's possible he may not have recovered as quickly without it
- He wins the stage (which his alcohol-fueled brain didn't consider as a possiblity due to his inebriation and depression)
- He gets tested and is found out

Seems pretty plausible to me when you consider all of the other boneheaded moves people make who have one drink too many.

What sucks about the doping is that with all the science and doctor patient privilege we have today, they still can't get the testing down pat. Then they leak out news and spear a guy before it's even proven. Just think, after all the years of hard work, how much Floyd's lost in appearance and endorsement money the past two weeks alone not to mention the next two years

Before its even accused by the UCI (no official accusations from the UCI as of yet)

Two weeks? It hasn't even been one week yet.

Maybe he should have got a better guy to administer his dope then?

Don't want to start a flame war, but that was the first I had seen/heard of that (granted....I haven't read too much on BF.net the past week).

That was hillarious!

Why all the denial? Of course he cheated. It's a fact. Sorry.
