Tandem Cycling - Co-Motion Speedster vs. Roadster--how are the frames?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So Mollie and I are looking for the replacement for the Burley Tosa, and we're looking into Co-Motions (looking for a longer stoker compartment than the Burley). The two models we're looking at are the speedster and the roadster. We might end up ordering a custom frame, but we're not sure yet... test rides are coming up.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone compared these two bikes side-by-side? Mollie and I are a heavier (350#) team, so I'm a little concerned about the steel frame on the speedster, but it would be nice to save some cash so I can get the "necessary" upgrades (wound up fork, disc brakes, etc.). Any info you might have on the ride quality of both frames would be nice.

Thanks!

Steel will handle the load as well as Aluminum with more comfort. I have a Speedster and it is a really nice combination of BB stiffness, crisp handling, and compliance. The people to ask this question of are the folks at Co Motion.
