Who's in charge of initiating a new Forum topic/theme?

Yeah, Stacey's no mind reader. What can we do for you?

Well, I have a suggestion for a new forum topic...

How about Doping where all the topics about performance-enhancing (and mind expanding) drugs and those who use them can go to.

To tell you the truth, I'm getting sick and tired of hearing about it but if that's what forum members want to talk about then they can have at it. It will all be in one place and not clogging the Road Cycling, Road Bike Racing and TdF forums.

It's not a Miami Vice subforum, is it?

Well, Doping would belong in TdF, or at least Road Bike Racing... :)

Speak for yourself.

Where else?

Before this thread gets too far off onto some drug tangent, my suggestion for a new Forum topic would be to have one for Commercial Cycling...a place where messengers, pedicab drivers, etc., can come to discuss opportunities, insurance and liability issues, equipment and suppliers, marketing ideas and just about anything else that would have influence on someone's ability to make money using a bike. I think this goes well beyond living a car-free lifestyle or commuting yet there's very few, if any, places for meaningful discussions to take place.

Just an idea.

Thanks,
Don

I'll toss that suggestion into the Mod queue, and see what comes of it. It's a very narrow demographic though. The SS/Fixie threads would probably be the best place for most messenger stuff, Commuting would have your equipment, and the Car Free guys can help you with the rest. But I'll at least make sure it gets discussed.

OK. Thanks. My final 2 cents worth is going to be that messengers aren't the only guys that make $$$ on their bikes and not all of them ride fixies, commuters don't usually drive pedicabs or workbikes to work and those that live car free don't necessarily use a bike to make bank. This is not to mention that trying to keep up on discussions about utility bikes, work bikes, cycling as a form of commerce means I either have to visit multiple forums, which is usually fine (but a hassle) or I go to a completely different website.

Just thought it'd be a good, logical extension of the Forum and something that isn't addressed directly as a topic. Almost all bike-related groups, organizations, etc., have little to no resources or discussions about commercial cycling advocacy. Just hoping these Forums would break that cycle (no pun intended).

Don
