Great Lakes - Milwaukee road bikers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
21 y/o female looking for a ride buddy or 2. I live on the east side near UWM. Looking for one or more people to ride with a couple times a week. I usually work noon-7 Mon-thurs and am available for rides before or after. Also longer rides on Fridays and Sundays during the day. I have been biking most of my life but have only been riding agressively on the road only this year. I did my first couple races this year so now I know what to work on to be better for next year's race season. I usually average 16-18mph on my own and I've hit a rut, and would like someone who can challenge me. I'm also looking for more group rides to join. Any advice?

hey biker woman hope Milwaukee is trweating you well. You sound like a riding partner I am lookinfg for, but I am in Madison... weekend rides are a posibility. I was looking for someone to ride with that won't cause me to hammer with them every time I go ride (testosterone fest).
You can also keep an eye out for Forum rides key word Cheesehead.

Hi
I am a 22 year old male that lives on the east side and attends UW-M
What sort of distances are you interested in riding?
I put on about 100 a week
I am also part of a club that bikes for fun once a week (bars/coffee houses)
and on weekends we started doing long distance rides
last weekend we went to port washington and back
and am planning a ride to madison in 1.5 weeks
I have never been in any races though
but if you are interested let me know
I am interested in the group rides you mentioned. When are they and from where? I also usually do about 100 miles a week, but as it's getting darker earlier now, haven't had time to do as much. What kind of speeds do you usually average?
Thanks for responding.
Not sure about UWM/Milwaukee-centric group rides, but I would imagine that the LBS in the area probably have rides. Otherwise, you can always come out to Waukesha for the group rides here. The Spring City Spinners have some good Show & Go rides ( www.springcityspinners.org ) and the Bike Dr has a few rides during the week (maybe check out the Wednesday night ride) (www.bikedr.com).
