Are there any real-time chat boards for bike-related stuff, such as on IRC? It just occured to me that I've hit the "Reload" button about 200 times today on bikeforums, and having a real-time bikeforums would be kinda nice.

:D

There is a really cool chat program that integrates pretty seamlessly into vBulletin. I have it working on some of my other forums. I dont know if this forum could handle any more load to run it tho.

IRC portals through vBulletin kind of suck. Ive used about every one of them out there and they all are kind of lacking. A standalone chat setup (IE, chat but not through an IRC server) has been the best solution I've found.

Interesting... didn't know about vBulletin chat. Maybe it's disabled on BF to prevent me from wasting even MORE time :) Do you know what kind of system is running BF? Seems to be straining under the load recently. According to nmap it is running a 2.6 Linux kernel, which is good news to me, but I'm wondering about the hardware.

IRC is nice cause it's so universal. Apparently there are a couple of MTB channels on IRC (googled them), but can't find anything like the mechanics forum or commuting or classic/vintage...
