It's a milkshake, albeit a properly proportioned milkshake with a multi-vitamin. The main problem I see is that it is touted as a meal replacement, but all of the carbs are coming from sugar. There doesn't appear to be any fiber.

I don't know how anyone looks at that list of ingredients and thinks, "Yeah, maybe I should try this."

To each his own.

sounds like it would be a great recovery drink after a long ride...I'd go for it...

I bought some Ensure to drink after centuries, etc...but if I got Boost(which I think is actually more expensive), I'd use that for sure...

I prefer to make my own which is
probably 25 times richer in amino
acids and vitamins than Boost.

My 85 year old father drinks that
stuff after he works in the yard and
seems to like it, but I couldn't get
the taste of Convalescent hospital
out of my mouth (and mind) when
I tried it. :O) Which isn't to say that
it isn't decent stuff, but whey protein
powder mixed 50/50 with Fruit Punch
flavored Gatorade and Water in
a blender would probably be better
for recovery during or after a ride IMHO.

Boost Plus and Ensure Plus are very similar products, both of them good liquid food for cycling. I have tried both in the past few months and I like them. I drink one bottle before the start of a brevet to start the caloric intake right, and bring some with me to take if I start having problems eating or digesting enough solid food for fuel. It goes down real easily and it provides enough calories for an hour of riding at my speed. I prefer Ensure Plus because the bottle cap is easier to open while I am riding, and because I can get it cheaper in 24 packs at Costco.
