I found this interesting. It renewed my faith in Floyd.

I'm waking up in the morning to go pre-ride the race course of the regional championship road race, to be held in 6 weeks time. I may not be able to produce 400 watts for 30 minutes, but I can line up on Sunday and race. Here's mud in your eye, Floyd! You get to wake up under the gun of a positive B test.
Only thing I agree about for sure in his post is that it was effed that the info was leaked. They should find that leak and hang 'em from the highest yard arm.

Looks like Tyler is trying to pick up some extra cash by writing Floyd's blog. . .

...the T value returned has been determined to be in the normal range. The E value returned was LOW, thus causing the skewed ratio.
This is interesting, if true. I wonder if this is the urine testosterone level or the blood, and what would be expected in a doping rider hours after the exogenous exposure.

Do youself a favour - read some similar statements from riders who were eventually found totally guilty.

I too am particularly troubled by the actions of the UCI (mostly their leak)- it is far more troubling than the cheating of an athlete. If the organization that is supposed to oversee the management and fairness of a sport has internal ethical issues (like not being able to keep confidential material confidential) then what trust should the fans have in its ethics?

I agree that this is interesting. If true, it would (in my limited understanding) undermine the accussation that "Floyd took testosterone" - unless both T and E levels were very low after his horrible stage 16 crack.
It should be remembered that the tests are indicators of doping occurances, but the various indicators (T/E ratio, as well as absolute levels of T & E) must be taken all together to figure out what a rider actually did.
You don't normally define the "normal" level of a body chemical in urine, since it varies considerably depending on how well hydrated the person is and thus how concentrated or dilute the urine is. As well, a variety of factors can make the urine more or less acidic, and that affects the rate at which different chemicals pass from blood to urine in the kidney. For those reasons there is no point in commenting on whether Floyd's urinary testosterone or epitestosterone were "high" or "low". Only the ratio of the two is relevant in urine, and even that can vary among individuals, or under different conditions such as heavy drinking.

"Normal" is meaningless as a statistical value. Mode, median, or mean is more apt.
He was still the best rider at the tour. IF they others didn't dope enough, that is their problem.

i agree with that. the testosterone probably had no effect besides psychological. landis was the best and the guys who couldn't follow were just as dirty.
at that level they all dope. it's a part of the sport that they all accept.

Getting kicked out for getting caught is part of it too.

My sentiments exactly now can every one shut the f#$% up about it:)

So it wasn't Phonak that went public with the A test results?

Agreeing with all that... how does one factor in the artifical stuff that was found... That to me is the biggist issue. I can accept any explaination for varied ratios, and excessive amounts, but the synthetic testosterone and the tests that detect that are the issues that drive the nail into the coffin.

--JThe T/E ratio problem was officially released. The evidence of synthetic testosterone was leaked. In fact, I'm not sure I've read an official statement from the UCI yet that says there is evidence of synthetic testosterone. It's could be out there by now and I've just missed it. But for days it was just leaked information.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw a guy replace Floyd's chamois cream with testosterone cream. I guess it's pretty serious.

They also accept the rules of the races they enter, and one of the rules is that they are not allowed to have banned substances in their body. Whether you think it had an effect or not doesn't matter; it's banned in or out of competition for cyclists for a reason.
Speculate about the T/E ratio all you want; the most damning evidence is the presence of synthetic testosterone.

Phonak went public after the UCI confirmed that a rider's urine showed an "adverse analytical finding following an anti-doping test carried out at the Tour de France 2006." Apparently Phonak wanted to preempt rumors and speculation by releasing information and controlling the spin. They failed and only caused wider speculation and did not stop rumors (although a leak from the UCI changed the scenario).
I think the main speculation and rumours came from Landis not turning up for a bunch of post-tour crits.
Floyd is a farce, the same as Lance, Heras and Tyler. They laughed at you guys while you ran around buying the stupid bikes and the Disco/ Postal outfits. The same as the loser that goes into a strip club and thinks the dancers really dig them. As long as you have cash you are king.......
Livestrong foos......:p
I recorded the 17th stage and watched it again today... At the end i noticed floyd jumped off his bike and was all hyped up. In fact, the annoucers said "he still has a lot of fight left in him"! Right after that, he bit the head off a humming bird and drank its blood... I wonder if that had anything to do with his test results???
