Mountain Biking - Your judgement: will my bike stand up to going down stairs a lot?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have a K2 Razorback Team and I've pounded down stairs so many times that I think I've mastered the skill. I know it's a dangerous thrill, but I guess I'm safe cause I know what I'm doin'. Anyways, do you think my frame will snap on me when I'm rolling down?

Its not that dangerous...it sounds like you are ready to start gapping :)...
It should be fine...stairs really aren't that stressful on a bike. At least not any more so than a slightly rough trail :)
Yeah that's what I was thinking ... there's massive bumps at some of the places I go anyways. Gaps? Oh I was all into that ... gaps, drops, bunnyhops, a bit of trials ... then my K2 Attack 2.0 frame snapped into two pieces and I fell onto it ... that wasn't cool ... injuries ... My old bike was not meant for pounding and I don't think my 'team would hold up to it either. I want one of those new $800 BigHits though, those look sweet. Then I'd be all for it! Problem: $ :)

The only deal better than the bighit is Ironhorse. Great bike, great value. Imo breakout bike of the year for sure. I expect I will even see 1 or 2 up here this year.
