Foo - WHITE a girl's color for a car?

I'm shopping around for a new sports car and one of the items is color. Is white a girl's color? All of the girls in my neighborhood drive white cars. So I was thinking of black. But with 100*+ summers it can get really hot. What do you guys think? And I don't care for gray, silver, red, blue, green, etc.

I don't see a ton of evidence pointing to white strictly being a girl's color. The only problem with a white car is it looks alot dirtier alot earlier just because of the nature of the white car :p

sounds like the girls in your area are smarter that the guys... they get the white and don't worry about the heat whereas you're actually worrying about it.

It's not the color of the car as much as the car itself. You look like a fairly big guy. Do you really think being seen driving a Volkswagon Cabriolet or a Mazda Miata or a the new Volkswagan Beetle will seem less 'girly' if the car is a 'masculine' color? Another 'chick car' I personally can't stand are the Pontiac Sunfires.

But what do I know? I own a GT Mustang with a 400+hp 351 engine. If I were you, I'd worry less about the color and focus more on the car, but that's just my .02.

Depends on what the hairdresser drives I guess. If it's a Ford GT then I think the racing stripes are mandatory:D but if they're driving a Smart Car, then it's probably only a strip 'cause I don't think those cars are wide enough for stripes. :p

I learned a long time ago that every man needs one good pink shirt. Seriously.

Sport it, and brush off anyone's crap about it. Women love confidence, and any guy that can be confident wearing pink will be a leg and shoulder ahead of the rest. This also works well in meetings at work. People only make fun of it when you seem awkward about it.

As for cars, buy what you want. I prefer metallic burgundy color for my cars. I don't know the name of it, but GM still uses it on cars.

If I were you, I'd hold out for the Scirocco (sp?). That thing could be pale pink and still kick ass.

Mac, I don't think anyone is going to mistake you for a girl (unless your breasts get any larger than they already are), but I think if it gets to be a 100° + degrees where you are, you're going to be very unhappy with black. as for the whole car/colour thing, i voted that white was not a "girly" colour. in fact, i don't even think there are "girly" cars. there are cars that women are more attracted to (on average) than men, and vice-versa, but that doesn't mean they are "girly cars." my best friend drove a white Miata for years - and it wasn't a "girly" car. it had all the factory performance goodies, plus lots of stuff he added - and he drove like a maniac. fun car.

that said, it'd be cool if VW would sell rabbits in the multicolour (well, black/white/grey) paint scheme shown in some of the commercials. but then, my favorite VW colour selection was always Harlequin.

The first car I bought for myself (about six months after starting my first real job) was a white '93 Eagle Talon. I lived in Florida at the time, and it made sense to go with white. Plus, I really liked the way it looked. Yes, I'm a guy. And I think I made a good choice, just like you have.

I wanted the German engineering, the safety, decent gas mileage, some "oomph" when I step on the gas, and a high trade-in value. Since there are so many Jettas, they depreciate rather quickly. This will be my "fun car" until the '08 or '09 Jetta's with the new diesel engine w/ cleaner emissions come out. I would have gotten that today, but they don't sell TDI in CA. The newer diesel engines are developed by Mercedes. By then, gas prices would probably be around $5 - $6 for 91.

Safety is important to me after being broadsided in my old Ford Ranger and seeing the damn thing just fall apart. :eek: My boss drives a BMW and it is solid. I figure I could go with a German car, but w/o the name-brand price. And aren't women concerned about safety and all that stuff? :D

All I need to do now is put on some spinners, lower the body, put on a wing, put on a multi-color paint job, cover the lights to make them tiny circles, and I think I'll be set... J/K

In Russia it is difficult for women to get gainful employment. (However, I believe that russiandj does not actually live in Russia). Many Russian women live off a small goverment check if they are divorced.
