My grandparents are approaching 80, actually I think my grandfather is 80 now. Anyways, they are needing to move out of the house they've lived in for 50 years. FOr one it is far more than they need, and for two it is more than they can maintain now. I was just curious about how medicare handles these types of situations, moving out into an assisted living community that is. They are not looking for a single building retirement home, but more of an assisted living community where they can have a 1 bedroom apartment.
Does medicare pay for this stuff at all? And what about any kind of insurance? Also, my grandfather is a Veteran of Korea, does that make any difference?
