I just bought a used Kona JTS. It came without pedals, and may be missing a few other things. I'm getting it properly tuned, and I have two questions regarding the Truvativ Elita crank:

1. I do not have pedal washers. Are the Truvativ pedal washers specific at all to the crank, or could I use Shimano or another type of pedal washer? Anybody have the washer diameter and thickness?

2. On the crank arm attached to the chainring spider, there is no center cap -- its just a gray plastic-lined hole. The opposite crank arm has a cap. Am I missing a cap, or is this how the crankset is supposed to be?

Appreciate it folks.

on my 2005 jts, both crank arms have caps. same crank as you mentioned yours has.

as far as the crank it depends....the '04 and earlier JtS's have normal ISIS BB's, so both cranks have caps...later JtS (05 or 06) have the giga pipe GXP Elita cranks...does your crank arm say GIGA or GXP? If they do, no cap.

Yeah, they are on an 06 Kona JTS, and are Elita, so it appears that no cap is correct on drive side. Thanks.

It's a shame that the company website is absolutely lacking in common information on their own products. No technical service number listed also (for Truvativ).
