Yesterday, I saw someone pedalling a beater with a crazy looking saddle. When they came to a stop at the light ahead, I took a closer look. In place of a saddle they had put the foam-wrapped leg lift from the a weight bench. I guess the guy lost/broke his seat and stumbled across a home-made replacement.

The 'saddle' sat across the bike like this: --|-->- The guy looked quite pleased with himself. It was pretty cool, in a Mad Max kind of way....

What about a set of roadbike handlebars mounted upside-down in the seat tube, with a sling like a director's chair stretched between the drops? Can't remember where I saw it.
