Anyone else register for this event in Chicago? (I tried a search but the title search utility isnt working)Anyway, I just got suckered into this one because a friend dropped out. I havent been doing much training because I didnt think I was going to do it, but now... it never fails. I always get pulled into this stuff. Looks like fun though. Ive never tried an adventure race before.

Andy.
They have had a couple of those type of races around here, both urban and 'wilderness' types. I have not been that interested because of the orienteering aspect. Never liked using a compass much in boy scouts. Good luck and tell how it goes.

Andy,
I got suckered into one of these last year, too!!! The race I did was in Nebraska and was an open course, meaning you got a map and completed the course any way you wanted. At each point you grabbed an armband. It consisted of running, mountain biking, canoeing, etc...and took 2 hours to finish. Honestly, I hated it. I prefer going from event to event, like a tri.
Looking at your race, it looks like you'll go from event to event and it looks pretty challenging. The pic of the guy passed out next to his mountain bike cracked me up!!! Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I think the hard part about this one is going to be running around for 6-9 hours! Its a lot of different types of excersize too. Its gonna be hard staying with the team too. We have to remain within like 100yds of each other or somethign like that. Im hoping it is a lot of fun, Ive never realyl done anythign like this before.
