I was just wondering: How many White Jersey winners have gone on to win the tour? On the flipside, how many of the winners were ever the white jersey winner in earlier years?

How many people have won with multiple specialty jerseys? I think I read somewhere that Merckx (sp?) won some races in his career with more than one of the jerseys (Green, Polka, Yellow)...

Sorry not to say anything about doping, just can't think about it any longer, too depressing.

Google "the cycling hall of fame". Go to the site and get to the TDF section. It will give all multiple jersey winners.

As to white and eventual wins it becomes more difficult. Things depend a lot on what you count. Best young rider was not always a jersey. Also at one time the white Jersey was the combo award.

In any case Eddy won a white jersey and won a few tours.
