Just don't remove the wheels. Burley uses quick releases like a hub.

It's not nearly as fancy as the Burleys, but we have a Little Tikes Cozy Cruiser that we got on sale from Wally Mart. This thing folds down without taking the wheels off, and the wheels are noticeably smaller - around maybe 8-10" - the whole thing essentially folds flat-ish, as the main top frame all unhooks and collapses. Admittedly, I've never had to use this feature because I don't use a car - but thought I'd throw it out there.

Chariot trailers fold down without removing the wheels.

+1!
It takes about 30 seconds to remove the wheels and fold up a Burley trailer.
Is that so hard?

That's right. We have two Burley d'lite trailers with more excess gear for our 5 kids (5 and under) than you would believe. Wheels pop off in seconds. Don't sacrifice quality for supposed convenience. We got our first d'lite from a tag sale (it is somewhere around 10 years old) and have put over 1000 miles on it ourselves. I've taken this one on some pretty rough trails with a mountain bike as well. We bought another one new last year. They both track very smoothly behind the bike. The newer model has venting through the seats that cuts down on wind resistance a bit. I think I like the boxier style old trailers better than the new ones. That said, go with the d'lite and find a used one on ebay, craigs list or a tag sale and spend the few seconds it takes to pop off the wheels.
