Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just wanted to alert anyone else who may have bought this bike (from Performance and possibly other places too) to check and make sure your cranks are assembled properly. By chance, I grabbed my cranks and found that they had a tiny amount of play in the bearings. With the help of another forum member, I traced the problem to a missing drive side spacer (there should be two). Without this spacer, the crankset will not tighten down onto the bearings (the crankarm bottoms out on the splines first) causing the play. This play would definitely become worse over time and eventually ruin the bearings. I got lucky and caught mine with only 75 miles on the bike (I don't get out on it much thanks to my 3 other bikes).

Hopefully someone else can benefit from this.
