Any reccomendations on a beginner friendly race in Mass. I've never raced cross but want to get started.
Thanks.

Do you want to race or go to a clinic? Mass has a very robust cross scene as can be seen on www.bikereg.com. If you want a clinic, www.cycle-smart.com has a great one. There are new rules for cross this year that will follow road racing classes. If you do not have a license, you will need to purchase a "one day" liscense and race in the lowest level which is the "5's". I do not know where you are, but between September and November there will be races in the following towns in Mass - Falmouth, Canton, Lowell, Northfield, Sterling, Glouscester (twice), Brockton and Plymouth. The National Championships are in Providence. I highly recommend you go to any one of these races. Cross is a fairly low key affair. The fields get very spread out and you can go at your own pace. Just have fun and do it!!! Then you can become part of the fraternity. Give us a report on your first race!!! I'll be at all these races. Everyone on this board had to start where you are right now. Just do it! If you have any other specific questions, just let us know here.
i agree, just go out and race. theres TONS of cross in MASS. you are in a good spot.
