need some suggestions... driving cross country, going to stop in:

columbus, ohio
louisville, kentucky
chicago
minniapolis
boise, idaho
portland, oregon
(and anything in between)

i'll be driving, & will have my bike as well. i'll need some solid suggesions as to some good watering holes, and food (and anything else worth mentioning... [*****s]). anyone have any suggestions?
