Hi
I am new to biking. The more I am reading, the more I am getting excited about it. I became a member only yesterday. I have yet to explore the forum.
My earlier experience in biking has rather been extremely basic. Compared to today's equipments and features I see in the bikes in the lbs, my bike was a traditional standard fixed 2 wheeler, raised handle wars, with sufficiently working brakes on it stop the bike. It always helped to use a good shoe....And that too, it was so long long ago that I do not even remember the make or paint of my good old bike.
Well, now I think it is time to revisit the issue and reward myself with a decent bike. And I have been looking around....and reading a bit here too:D. After some trial and error experiments lasting several weeks since the beginning of the summer, I finally bought a cannondale road warrior 400.
To be honest, I have not a clue about what makes a good bike. So any comments on my pick would probably make me feel better. The other bikes I considered were Giant FCR3, Specialized Sirrius, Trek 7.2 FX. Before narrowing the list to the above, I test rode Specialized crossroad, fuji cross town, giant sedona, giant cypress. I also dared to ride a drop handle bar bike (Giant OCR3), but the gearing system appeared a bit challenging for me. But the ride on OCR3 felt the best. FCR3 was close....but I could never find the right size bike available to test ride. So here I am with a Cannondale Road warior 400...ready to explore the world again...a bit differently:)
