Here is my new bike. (CAAD4, Slice fork, tiagra STI triple) I just love it. Sorry about the dirt, I had to ride it first before I took pictures.

Nice bike. I have always loved the Cannondale ride.
Is my monitor color off, or is your bike a Bianchi color? What is the official name for the Cannondale color?
And one more question, what is that white stuff all over the ground?

On the sales ticket, they call the color Kale. It does look like a bianchi color, but more blue.

Oh, the white stuff, that's snow. Not much left after 49 degrees today. Tomorrow, more coming.

I really looked at the Allez. I thought I wanted steel, but after chatting with the sales person, I was convinced that aluminum has come a long ways. The price was in my range and the bike rode fine.

The color is unique. I think upgrades will be easy to come by.

I am happy to buy a "Made in the USA" bike too!

Smart buy on the caad 4! I like it alot better than the Allez and yes, aluminum has come a long way! I think you will be very happy with the bike.
I also like the fact Cannondale is a designed/manufactured in the USA company. I think it maybe the only major one (besides smaller companies like Titus, Santa Cruz, etc)?

Hey there Iowa, very nice choice, I love cannondale obviously, so I'm a bit biased on that, but nonethe less, great choice, I hope it will bring you many great rides in the future!!....Hey is that the bike you're going to take on RAGBRAI??, and oh yeah I remember you wrote something about TOSRV, considering doing that also??..

Enjoy the ride,
Benjamin

That will be my RAGBRAI bike. All winter, I was convinced that I would get a double chainring, not a triple. When I went to buy, everything has triples. There are no doubles. Then they say pro's are using triples. Considering how hilly RAGBRAI will be this year, a triple will be just fine!

I am planning on the Tour of the Mississippi River Valley (TOMRV) from Bettendorf to Dubuque on July 7-8. It sounds like a tough ride, but a good tour.

Not true

You can ASK for a double instead of a triple

It's really up to you though...the extra chainring adds a very negligible amount of weight and might be very helpful on the hills (but I would just say get in better shape so you don't need it)...but if you're into that whole "pro roadie look" then a double is better :D

they have the same bike (in my size) at the LBS marked down. all the cannondales are marked down. even the c-dale clothes/socks are marked down. i'd buy it if i thought my marriage could withstand another bike.

My wife told me that I could go shopping for a new bike. I went the next day and bought one. Never let her change her mind on the bike fund.

don't get me wrong. my wife prodded me to get my bike when i needed a new one 4 years ago. but i believe she said 'buy a great bike....because this isn't an everyday purchase'

i currently don't have enough time to ride the 3 bikes i already own.
