hi everyone
i live in quebec and ride my bike almost everyday. i'm in road racing and that kind of stuff, tryin to get better. i plan to try cyclocross races this fall and i'm searching for a nice bike of that kind. i also do some mountain biking for fun but i'm not very good so i use my mountain bike to wander around and i enjoy it.
Quebec is my city, a nice city (except for our mayor, she's a i-won't-say-that-word-here who doesn't like bikes so i don't like her), but needs more bikepath and public transportation.
my other hobby is listening to music. sometimes i listen to the music i like as if it was the last time i was hearing it. it'a always, always great, even if i have already heard the song thousands of times. I'm crazy about Taking Back Sunday and Bayside and i'm always listening to new stuff on purevolume and myspace.
sorry if what i say sounds sometimes strange but i'm french-canadian so...my english is maybe not as good as yours but i'm not too bad also!
i also dream of a world without cars, i especially DISLIKE SUVs...
see you later on the forums
z.

Welcome zaz! Don't let the grammar and spelling nazis get to you. If they give you hard time, bust some French on them and tell them to correct that. I wonder if you mayor knows our mayor in NYC. He's anti-bike too. Anyways, there's lots of opinions on bikes here so the Search function should turn up something on whatever you're looking for and if it doesn't, feel free to ask.

Hi Zaz
What a wonderful city you live in. I had the pleasure of spending a few days there in July in a solo cross Quebec bike tour. I can't say the same thing for the early July weather. I rode eight days and only needed sunscreen once. In spite of the rain you have a fantastic province to road cycle in. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I know only a few words of French however even in the rural areas I had no problem. If you think you have a problem with English you should hear my French. I would say "Bonjour" and immediately the person began speaking English. I'm coming back

I love Quebec city - most years I manage to spend a weekend there, but have never cycled in the city.

Welcome. :)

I wonder if that anti-bike sentiment carries over throughout the whole province - 3 out of 4 drivers who cut too close to me today had Quebec plates.

It appears everyone has a little road rage in the Great White North since the Stanley Cup went south years ago.:)You 2 should try Ohio in the late fall for road bikes, you wont be disappointed.
