I just got a used '83 Bianchi Randonneur in preparation for next years Seattle to Portland ride. I currently commute to work 8.5 miles round trip daily, but haven't done any riding over 20 miles at a time. Any training tips for the next 10 months?

Also, the bike I got is a large frame for me - it's a 23", and I'm 5'10", but aside from the top tube being a bit high, it's very comfortable. I can stand over it, but there is NO clearance. Other than the obvious, is there anything else I should be worried about?

Here's a pic of the bike:

Other than the obvious, is there anything else I should be worried about? Can't say for sure, but depending on your arm length, and the size of the bike's stem, you could end up reaching a little to much for the bars. You could end up with a neck ache or a back ache on long rides.

Do you know your shirt/sleeve size? The stem length? As far as training, just ride as much as you can, some of the time real hilly area, some of the time, really slow on flat areas.
