d00d :) I was five. I hardly think my parents would have approved.
One day I aim to get myself to Alaska. And Ireland. I could be happy never going anywhere else if I could check out the tundra and glaciers and Pacific up north, and finally be able to say I've seen the place where my family started.

Ireland is breathtaking, especially the West. It's just magical.
I bet a lot of people could pass it up without feeling the worse, but I don't really think there's much out there that compares. Where else can you see 4,000 year old stone huts in the middle of a field surrounded by sheep, on the edge of a 300-foot cliff dropping off to the ocean, next to a mile-long sandy beach?

Glad you approve. :) The Discovery jersey kind of clashes with the Cervelo bike, though. The OCP'ers might crucify me if I don't go get myself a CSC jersey.

Ireland has always been on my list of places to visit, as well as Scotland. Ireland, since that's where my dad's side of the family originated, and Scotland just to go tour some of my favorite distilleries :D
...I really do want to go visit Turkey or Norway again, both are incredible places, each in their own way.

No worries jschen - it will just make some people speculate that one of the Disco riders is defecting to CSC. :)

Turkey was truly a great place to visit! I want to go back there again also. Istanbul was a lot of fun and Ephesus offered MUCH more than any of the ruins in Greece (Acropolis included). The people were more friendly too.

I've lost track of the breweries and distilleries (and cider mills!) I've toured in the British Isles. Plenty of fun, for sure. I traveled part of Ireland with a girl from the Netherlands. I dunno if it was her poor english or what, but she referred to "Bulmers" as "Buh-loomers" - which got plenty of wicked stares from bartenders.
Ireland was more attractive overall to me, Scotland seemed a bit harder to take in all at once. Seeing Edinburgh Castle perched on a rocky outcrop above a huge field of daffodils is an amazing sight, though.

I too really liked Istanbul. I think it was St. Sophia that really impressed me. The indentations in the floor where the guards stood over the years.
I think they have the worlds shortest subway system too (or they did in 1975).

Kinda weird, I was just thinking about this...
North St John, NB (Canada)
South Houston, TX
East St John, NB (Canada)
West Aspen, CO
Lot of places in between. Trips to Norway, the desert SW and maybe Alaska are in the works so everything except my southern extent should change.
Funny, I've been to every state on the SE/E coast from Texas to Maine, except Florida, and I'm not really in a rush to go.
