Mountain Biking - Finally got my bike upgraded (pic)

Hey everyone....I finally got my 02' Psylo SL installed and my new Shimano RH-M540 wheelset. It rides like a completely different bicycle now. I upgraded from a Judy TT fork and the difference is like night and day. The wheelset feels more rigid yet I don't detect a weight increase. I definitely am satisfied with the upgrades!! Thanks to everyone here on the forums who helped me at one point or another!! Here's a little before and after pic I whipped up quickly on mspaint. nice wheels and good choice on the upgrades. The lighter wheelset will definately make the bike faster and the Psylo will help a lot with just about everything, especially over the Judy TT

I have the same bike and I was thinking about upgrading my wheels. Just don't know what to go with. I know I want to get some wider tires. Was thinking these, http://www.supergo.com/itemdisplay.asp?parentid=21187&secid=7559&subid=7565&compflag=1&company=Maxxis

Should I upgrade my wheels too?

Yes, and then some. It is on the fly adjustable from 80-125mm

I've wondered about those low spoke count
wheels, and strenght, they just look like
they cannot take weight :rolleyes:

Nice! The Psylo must be a big step up in ride quality from the Judy :)

I've got R540's on my road bike and they're doing great so far. Very tough wheel.

Just built differently. Most paired spoke wheels use heavier spokes, and they are at a very high tension compared to traditional wheels. Also the load is shared because each pair goes to the same point on the rim.

Hey, how do you like the increased suspension travel as far as geometry goes. Is it still decent on the climbs and tight singletrack? I'm thinking about upgrading from the 80 mm skareb to a marz' 105 mm MX Comp/ETA on my stumpie HT (when i get it, 19'' aren't available to my LBS yet so I'm saving some extra money for more upgrades so I can have the perfect bike for me when it is available. :)) I've been hitting the downhills faster lately and I'm worried the lightweight skareb won't be enough for me (I'm a bit of a clydesdale at about 190). Oh ya and nice bike love the new rims.

Thanks for the compliments Tokus (and everyone else). I can't speak for the 125mm setting because I haven't needed that much travel yet, but for the 100mm setting, the slight geometry change hasn't bothered me any. The bicycle handling is still great. I did tell the LBS to take 2 of the 3 spacers out between the headset and the stem to lower the handlebars by about an inch, though. While that didn't change the geometry of the frame any, it does feel more comfortable than with the spacers installed.

Nice bike, I would be wary of using the 125 mm of travel on the psylo, because it might be too mush travel for that frame.
