I posted this last night... anyways, yes, it's broken.
Time for a T1 Ruben or Macneil Heaton 2. Does anybody know what the smallest gear ratio I can run with this frame is? The Joe frame can fit 28/10.

How did you snap the general? And I like T-1's as well, but why not get a nice new Sunday! frame or one of the newer frames?

I was thinking about getting one, but it will cost me $550 to get the frame, bb and headset.
About $100 cheaper for the T1 or the Macneil. If anybody has some other suggestions for frames with 20" toptube and full chromo, lets hear them.
Also, I dont know what made it go, I just came off of a little hip jump at the skatepark and it cracked right behind the BB.

This is what you get for riding one of those, seeing as how they're low-grade Taiwanese crap now, as opposed to the good US-built ones of old.

Fly frames have always been iffy.

So, if an american built frame breaks, I can say:

No. My point is that the frame was, in the past, DK's highest grade frame, made from full 4130 chromoly, and welded in the US. Then they decided to turn it into a cheap, POS complete bike with only chromoly main tubes. Hell, even the fork they put on the complete isn't all chromoly; only the steer tube is.

So, it's how it was made and what it was made with, and not where or who made it that is the problem.

The point s that building a reputation for quality products, then turning around and putting your name on overseas junk is a poor business practice if you're looking for long term results.

Back when I got it, I wasnt into riding BMX to much and didnt know anything about cromoly and stuff.
The stricker will be about the same price.
Right now it's beetween the t1 and the macneil.

Need I remind you that the Sunday frame has a lifetime warranty against breakage. Sure you might have to save a little longer, but you get what you pay for.
Plus there will be some special limited edition '07 models around X-mas. I wont say anymore.... Jim C. will reveal more info in due time...;)

Ha. Well, I do happen to have another general lee frame if you would like it... and then you could save your money until you can get what you really want... a new model frame or something.
Need I remind you that the Sunday frame has a lifetime warranty against breakage.
Define "Lifetime". Generally, that means the usable lifetime of the product, it has nothing to do with how long you plan on living. For a BMX frame, that may be only a year or two.
Can someone please post the actual terms of the warranty?

Maybe its because the Tai's can build it cheaper, seeing as their minimum wage is like a pound of rice, labor is cheap, that and the U.S. used to export its steel to china to be made into **** and sold here for the same money, with the big companies raking in the dough.

I don't work for Sunday! bikes, FYI.

I believe that the warranty on the Sunday! frames is, indeed, lifetime, just like with every other 41 Thermal product on the market. However, it has its limits, within reason; Sunday! isn't going to warranty the frame if it fell off your roff rack and got ran over by a semi, but if you cracked a weld doing a gap off a roof, they probably would.

That's how I understood it was when I bought my Triumph bars.
I'm buying a Limited edition frame I mentioned earlier in this thread.
And a new rear wheel...converting to 28/9 gearing...building another bike...
But I'll be sticking with the ol' fart special wide a** seat...
And mark your calenders...Beerman & I agreed on something...

Not entirely. As nice as that frame is (I particularily like the post-welding machining of the bottom bracker and the hollow, braced dropouts), I still think that the DT-HT gusset makes the bike look ugly as sin.
I'll probably be getting a custom Solid AA sometime in the future, with thicker tubing on the chainstays amd bottom bracket. Depending on whether or not I decide to go back to being brakeless full-time, I might get it without mounts, as well.

I meant reguarding the warranty, B.M.
I really like the gusset...and its post-DT/HT welding addition.
I'm making my current Redline my trailbike, and the Sunday! will be for street. The Redline frame will replace my 2nd bike's Mongoose(Wal-Mart crap) frame.

I dented that frame twice the first week I had it (toptube from screwing up on a 180 and having the bike bounce, and downtube from missing a pedal smith stall), but (aside from grinding away at the right chainstay to the point where it's flat) it hasn't had more real damage, outside of scratches, it hasn't been damaged since. I think I got it last August or September, too.

Grinding tricks...I've never understood how purposely destroying your bike is fun/cool.
Here...you wanna grind...this is the way to go:

I happen to like grinding and find that to be the most fun thing to do... especially since I ride street because my family is not rich enough, or very willing to drive to the skatepark everyday. I have yet to go to a skatepark, and nor do I know if I will ever go since I completely obliterated my leg and my mom doesn't want me to ride again. I guess there is no purpose in fighting right now as I will have a cast on for the next 3 months, and then have to go into physical therapy. After that starts baseball season in which I have practice until 5 everyday, and then games that end a lot later. I also happen to be in all the honors and AP classes available, so it's a very rough schedule. I hope to be able to ride again, but the next time, if I ever ride, will be next summer. I already have ideas of building a grindbox however, and that might be completed decently soon. With completion of the box, that would pretty much reassure the fact that I will ride again. I want to try to start the project as soon as possible with my dad, but he will probably wait until I can walk before he just starts making something without me.

The park where I live is too small, and is skateboard only. The next city from here has a larger one, but skateboard only. Sucks. I'd like to see a real park. I'm sure Dallas has something but that's over an hour away and gas is too damn high. The bike trails near my home are too grown over with poison ivy this time of year so I can't go there either.

I try grinds sometimes, but I suck at them since I don't usually run pegs, and I can't do dropout feebles for ****.
I just do a lot of fakie stuff and manuals and bunnyhop gaps mostly, and carve the bowl and half pipes if I'm at the park. The first day I was learning grinds with pegs, I gouged the right crank arm and dropouts, chipped some pieces from the sprocket, and scratched the frame in like 5 places from it landing on a rail, and ledge. :p

When I first tried to grind, I was so off on the technique that I was actually doing pedal grinds and was scratching up the cranks and actually completely broke my pedal off and dented both of them severely at the same time. Fortunately for me, I am pretty good at grinding now and can feeble and double peg with ease... never got to learn how to smith due to breaking my leg.
