Training & Nutrition - Oblique and neck exercises

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
What is the best way to excercise the obliques? I seen several, like putting a barbell on the shoulders and twisting left and right. I've seen doing crunches and twisting left and right, but non e seems to work well. Does somebody here have a secret oblique excercise they would like to share?
And how about excercising the neck? What are some good methods to use?
Fubar,
I'm at work right now so don't hold me to this, but I think the latest issue of Bicycling magazine has some neck exercises.
I'll look when I get home tonight and double check. If I saw the article somewhere else I'll let you know.

fubar - check the latest (July) issue of Outside magazine, they have 3 exercises specifically to work the obs. You'll have to check the print version, the online version is not up on the web yet, seems they usually don't put it up until several weeks after the print issue has been out.
Fubar,
Here is some ggod stuff I was able to find.

Fubar,
I checked last night when I got home and the neck exercises are in the June 2001 issue of Bicycling magazine on page 44.
Good luck.

Yeah, I checked-out the excercises in Bicycling, the oblique excercises they suggested didn't work and put way to much stress on the lower back muscles. The neck excercises were ok, I've been doing those. The stretches they suggested for the neck don't work very well though.
Hunter, I'm checking out those sites, thanks man!!
