Is it impossible to re-mold a brooks to your (different from the original owner's) ass?

Maybe he and the original owner have the same ass profile? They aren't like fingerprints.

Actually they are more like snowflakes. Every ass is beautiful, no two are alike.

Snowflake? I thought they were more like delicious ruby starfruits.

it feels AMAZING. if i had known brooks saddles feel this good, i would have actually payed to buy one. i don't know if one's ass mold forever remains in the cell memory of a leather saddle, but it feels like this one was simply unused, more than anything.

as soon as i can get my dad to show me how to use a digital camera i will post pictures.

I want to hear more about how you found this bike. Where, when, how you know it was abandoned.

you'll all be pleased to know that it was "more or less" abandoned. every couple of months the town sends a few garbage trucks around the local neighborhoods and it's basically an opportunity for people to put ANYTHING out (except things such as cars or canoes or whatever have you).. so around this time i usually roam around town looking for some sweet garbage (one's junk is another's treasure) and i usually just get some bad cds or magazines, but someone had thrown out an old bike.. it was messed up, for sure.. it appeared as if the person wanted to switch out the handlebars, but they wouldn't come off, so they bent and broke the stem and the handlebars were just hanging freely by the break cables.. it was a mess, but it had a brooks saddle. so i took it. i knew it was just garbage to someone who probably didn't even know what they had.

that's not exactly the kind of brooks saddle that most people rave about..... still, looks like the bike was a nice find. more pics?

and yes, you should give something back - it's required.

That's what happens after 3 or 4 cans of proofhide, I think. I could fall asleep on that saddle.

I'm assuming the bike in the picture is not the bike that the saddle came on.

I can't believe this whole thread was about an old Brooks grandma seat.

hahaha! true! but what were you going to do anyways. i just thought it was a neat find. i will probably switch it out a lot with the avatar though, because i just took a long ride and it's not as comfortable as i expected it to be. it's.... big. extremely big.

Build up/restore a nice old cruiser and throw that on.

those schwinns polish up good, don't they (http://velospace.org/node/410)? that's what happens when you don't skimp on the plating, first time around. not so good for the environment, but what's done is done, i suppose.

I took a blue Brooks like that one off my Triumph 3 speed, put on my Wright W3N, a longer stem, and flipped the bars. It doesn't look like the classic 3-speed anymore, but it's a lot more comfortable to ride that way.

I don't remember why it has a brake lever on it.
At least now it's a coaster brake.

Definitely not what I was expecting. I bought an old brooks saddle that was waaay used and it is still comfy for me. Better than any other saddles that I've used. Not that kind of brooks though!

hahahaha man that was like someone saying "i hooked up with this really hot girl i want you to meet." and well, she ends up being cute, i guess.. in a... completely unconventional manner :o
