i was just wondering who the top bmxer's are and what they specialize in.

i wanted to look up some videos to watch but i wasn't sure who to search for because i don't know anything about bmx.

i saw a trailer once that i really liked. i remember it started off with a guy on a halfpipe rolling slowly, then he just jumps off and does a backflip off onto the ramp. (i THINK that's how it started off). can somebody name that video for me please.

That would most likely be Dave Mirra in the video Sentenced to Life.

but I wouldn't really say Dave Mirra is the best... everyone is different, so there really is no best.. I would check out the Animal videos (All Day, Can I Eat?) those are some of my favorites and can be conveniently found on google video. As for riders, I'll name my favorites...
edwin delarosa, bob scerbo, eddie cleveland, tyrone williams, corey martinez, matt beringer, tom white, josh stricker, steve hamilton, van homan, lino gonzalez, jared washington, blackman, dave mirra

My favorites, more or less in order...
Eddie Cleveland, Edwin DeLarosa, Ian Schwartz, Chase Hawk, Bob Scerbo, Gary Young

The Odyssey video is really good, as are the Animal ones and the Lotek Mixtape.

Yeah, I forgot about the Lotek Mixtape. Eddie Cleveland and Bob Scerbo's parts in that are amazing.

Yeah, pretty much everyone loves Edwin... although sometimes he is criticized for grinding as much as he does. And I do think Tyrone is very underrated... I really like his style.

no. he doesnt.
i whould like to know what it takes to impress people like you because dave mirra did things other riders have not even attempted in one session

iweargirlspants
08-26-06, 04:01 PM
to sum up everything for you guys DAVE MIRRA IS OVERRATED AND WASHED UP GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON. what are you going to do when he more than likely retires? who will you touch yourselfs to then? exactly. dave mirra might have broken ground but generally he is just trying to hang out to his last 15 minutes of fame. he doesnt deserve any more attention then he gets and further more im glad he got injured and couldn't ride x-gaymes. finally some one else who rode better then him got to win. even though every year people ride better and less sketchy than him.

no. he doesnt.
im gonna say i agree.

i completely respect what he does. and give him tons of credit. but thats the point. he doesnt deserve anymore credit then he gets. he already gets tons. he's MTV's poster boy for action 'sports'. what else could someone askfor then to be one of...scratch that...the most famous bmx rider in the world.

FitRider 921
08-27-06, 08:10 PM
He is the most famous rider in the world for a reason... he's very good, and he enters televised contests, and he wins most of them. Trust me, he deserves tons of credit, but his style is just different from other people... I think people like Bob Scerbo and Edwin Delarosa are just as good- they just have different styles and don't enter the amount of televised contests that Mirra does.

Hoffman. Anyone that won a amature contest turn pro after winning then win the pro contest in the same day must be good.

I'm glad my post was so important to you that had to comment on my spelling/grammer. It doesn't say much about you. Oh well I've wasted too much of my day responding to you.

Grammar. Did you miss this? (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=148213)

lol. You need a life. Your not much of a person if you must complain about other people's grammar. My guess is I'm not the only one that thinks this of you.
Wrong. Rules are rules sir, and you may wish to follow them like everybody else.
