Triathlon - Lake Arrowhead?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Is anyone doing the Lake Arrowhead tri this weekend? I am debating whether or not I should sign up because my Cross Country team leaves for Mammoth on the 20th (day after the race). I've heard good things about it, but don't know if I should do it.
A little more info.....I have only raced one tri before. It was the Utah Summer Games Tri and I won my age group by ~3 minutes and took 4th overall. I was a swimmer in high school (best mile time was around 18 flat when I was 14 haha) and I run cross country in college now. I guess what I'm concerned about is the bike which is supposedly really technical. Also, does anyone know how competitive this race is/how many people sign up on average?
All in all, after a lot of nonsense, I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on this race. Thanks guys! Take care! :)
My wife and I are entered. We did it last year. I'm not a strong swimmer and had difficulty due to the altitude, this year I'm wearing a wetsuit despite the 73 degree water temp.
It's 10 miles around the lake by bike. I did a century by going around the lake 10 times early in the year.
The top finishers did it in under an hour. The cateye said that 8400 feet of climbing. It's a nice bike ride, on the downhill curvy parts the cars will hold you up.
It should be a piece of cake for a strong swimmer.
Next year there will be a sprint and half ironman in Big Bear, it's another 1000 foot of altitude but much flatter for the bike.

8400 feet of climbing in 10 miles??? That doesn't sound right.
Edit: Active.com says 900 feet

Your right, I wasn't very clear. It was 8400 feet of climbing after 101 miles 10x around the lake, so I figure it's about 850 feet of climbing for 1 loop. Not a walk in the park but not that difficult either.

Alright, I'm signed up and ready to do this. I'll let you know how it goes.
Maybe I'll see u there, I'm the old guy with a grey beard riding a black and yellow Specialized.
Thats if I don't drown on the swim leg.
It was 47 degrees here this morning, hope it's a tad warmer on Saturday.

Well, I will be the skinny 21 year old that will be wearing a LMU jersey (most likely) and riding a QR Seduza bike. If you see me, don't hesitate to say hi! I'll do the same!
