Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Searching has been disabled

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. This morning BF response time was painfully s-l-o-w with lots of time-outs. The search function is very resource intensive, and with lots of search activity, the whole site grinds to a halt. Joe disabled the search function to keep interactive performance reasonable. He's thinking about putting in a separate server dedicated to searches so search activity won't degrade interactive performance.

Doing without the search function is a temporary inconveniece; it's the lesser of two evils.

Go to Google
enter: Bikeforums.net [your search request]
Is there any way that, at least temporarily, Google could be the official search engine? Many sites seem to be using google, giving you a choice between searching the resident site or all of google. I.e., Sheldon Brown's site has this feature.
