I just bought a Spec. FSRxc Pro, and I'm wondering how much it weights. I checked specialized's website but they don't have the weight listed in the specs. Anybody know of a reference for stock bike weights?

thanks

I use one of these (http://www.feedbacksports.com/) (actually have two). Unless you measure it don't count on anything you read. Weights are often times exagerated.

...why do you know how much it weighs? or is that just a general thing...

Just a general thing. Bikes seem to always weigh more than you think they do / should.

Best way I think with a generic bathroom scale or equivalent is to get on the scale and weigh yourself. Then hold your bike and get on. Subtract your body weight and voila! Probably the most accurate way of weighing your bike without some expensive doctor or meth scale.

Yeah, but since I kicked that meth habit last week I have been dying to find another use for this sweet scale I've had laying around.....

Plus, getting on the bathroom scale and then getting on with your bike just gives you two opportunities to be disappointed.

I've got the FSR XC Comp but I haven't taken the time to weigh it. Unfortunately I know how much the engine weighs and need to work harder on lowering it's weight before even thinking about how much the bike weighs.

Don'y worry about how much it weighs, just ride it. You'll wind up like LowCel and have all these expensive light bikes sitting around. Next thing you know you'll be ordering Ti chainrings and carbon goodies.

*sigh* sadly, i have already fallen victim to the weight weenie bug, with over $500 in improvements to my Felt road bike. I guess I can't kick the habit with the FSR. Plus the only advantage I have over the guy I ride with is my ability to climb better, so I want to see if there's a way to further my advantage :)

Hey.......I resemble that remark!!!! Just do yourself a favor and stay away from the Boone Ti chainrings, waste of a lot of money in my opinion.

Well, I did it. 29 lbs. I was actually quite happy with this result, since I was expecting about 35, based on the highly scientific method of doing a bicept curl with the bike and try to decide what dumbell it feels like :P
