just got this bike. used older specialized racing bike with shimino sti shifters. i shifted into the highest gear on the rear wheel (the smallest gear) by clicking the shifter downwards each time. i don't know how to get it back the other way and don't want to break it. can you help? thanks.

Use the big lever, and move it toward the center of the bars. You can shift one cog tow or three at a time depending on how far you move the lever.

thanks pokey. there's only one lever and as far as i can tell it only goes one way--downward. i tried upward pressure but no good. it's on a 7 speed. thanks.
