So I'm looking at the schedule of races in the Mid-Atlantic, (specifically the NYCross and MBRA/MABRA series) and I don't see any Single Speed category. Having not raced cross on the Beast Coast before, can anybody tell me which group the one-speeders race with? In Oregon we were paired with the B's, but had a separate prize category.

what's the deal?

Why not just race the class you would run in as a gearie?

well, that's what it seems I'll end up doing.. but I find it's more fun to race along side other singlespeeders. guess it's just not as big out here. No points for racing fized-gear or in a speedo, either. Ah well.

Oh I think its more fun to race against geared riders, after all these years I still get a kick out of passing someone on a better bike, younger, etc. Besides there weren't any s/s classes here in WV back when I was racing,I haven't raced in 2 years but I'm doing one race in Sept. for fun and returning to the full WVMBA series next year.I think I'm gonna concede and mix it up between a geared bike and the S/S though---JJ
