View Full Version : Raleigh Twenty seat tube diameter?
What is the Raleigh Twenty seat tube outer diameter? (I know the seat post is 28.6mm.) Need to get a seat clamp, but forgot to measure, and now I don't have immediate access to it.
Thanks!

Uhm let me go and check... On mine it's 32mm. I have an M-part non-quick release on mine. If you run into difficulties finding a 28.6mm post - get a 27.2mm one (far more common) and fit a shim to fill the gap.
Thanks, I got a 28.6 Kalloy post. 2 in fact. One is serving as the fork steering tube extender. And bought a 32mm Salsa Liplock. Nice rims, and Big Apples.
pics soon!
My 20 is identical to yours (Stowaway). 77 vintage.
Jur, when did you get a Twenty?
Just 2 weeks ago from that chap in Sydney who every once so often puts one up on ebay. It is in good shape despite some surface rust; Once I got the rust off it looks quite good, almost new in fact. Just the paintwork is all scratched up though. Went to Bunnies yesterday but can't find a metallic green rattlecan. I am replacing the wheels with 406mm ones but retaining the hubs. Nice narrow Rhine lites CR18. Wheel building tomorrow night...
How's yours coming along?
How's the missus holding up in the US?
Mine is not progressing very quickly. I missed out on an ebay auction for a wheelset from a Giant - the 16 or 20 spoke wheels laced to a Shimano Nexus 7 speed hub. That would have motivated me to get going. I've had so much to do around the house, I rarely have time to play. At this point, my only hope is to make it my winter project.
The missus is doing fine here. A bit of an adjustment, but she's pretty content. Can she give you a call, and have you swear at her? I think she's a bit homesick for a proper Aussie chat. :D
