My company has been blocking a lot of websites lately. Bike Forums bit the dust at work today. :(

So You guys will only see me on here when I have time at night.:( That really sucks! But I'm not going anywhere. (Except to Lancaster, PA for the big BF ride this weekend! Woo Whooo!):D

Sad....so I guess next time our IT updates Websense, I'm losing forum access while at work.

Of course IT doing anything here is pretty much an event worthy of a pig roast. 14 months and they STILL have not fixed the permissions on my machine to match company standards for Engineering....so I'm still using exploits and process hopping to force installers to run as admin.

I hope that does not happen to me , that would really suck

That would definitely make for some long work days. I'm sure once they update the websense here I'll be out as well. :(

Not sure what they use here , I will see if I can find out if my days are numbered

What are you all griping about? Unless you're self employed, you are on someone elses clock, you should be doing what they are paying you (handsomly?) to do.

Now shaddup and get back to work. :p

Hey that means we could all hang out on his thread and talk crap about him and he won't find out until he gets home! :D Or we could hurry up and delete everything before he sees it................

Use your comp at home as a proxy and tunnel through whatever port they leave open. :D

Does your insurance cover such addictions?

Been there, done that. :p Hell... when I was in the Navy they blocked access to the entire Cox cable modem network.... for 'security reasons'. But, you could go to any big web host site on the internet and upload all the confidential or top-secret info you wanted. But people being able to connect to their home computers via cable modem were a security risk. *boggles* Oh... and DSL users WEREN'T considered a security risk? (At least, they never tried to block any of the local DSL providers the way they did the cable company.

Anyway, I consider the time I waste on the web partial compensation for the ridiculously low salary they pay me here. :) They don't mess with me too much, I do a good job, and they know they could never find someone else to do the kinds of things that I can. (Well, they could find someone... or 2-3 someones, but it would cost them a LOT more.) Plus, I've already quit 3 times. The next time will be more permanent. :)

Yeah, I know I'm on the clock, and they are getting the work done as planned. I'm good at multitasking.

This really helps though when it's end-of-year rush and I'm stuck on another BS double shift or longer, just to watch one freaking unit under test....you can't imagine how boring that gets. Being kicked in the gonads is a better fate, since at least then you are at least recieving some kind of stimulus...bad interaction is better than no interaction, I guess....

For a middle tech solution, if you don't have a digital telephone line, dial up to your personal ISP.

Coffee too. Lots and lots of coffee, and you will be blocked no more!

Well it's definately gone at work, but I'll still be around at night. Thing is...I am a really hard worker and there are things I do that require time, but not my PC. These are the times I would be online at work............mostly:D:p But now the company is being really anal about what sites they block. It's gotten kinda ridiculous. So I'll just get my BF/Foo fix here at home until I get a new job!:D ;) i do miss not being able to check in during the day to see what you're all up to though.:(

Not Nazi, a capatilist tool. :) If I was an employer there would be no personal web surfing on company compoters. Just as I'd expect them not to get up a game of Texas Hold 'Em while they're on the clock. It's all part of the employment agreement... I pay you money in return for owning your soul for eight hours, if I want your soul for more than eight hours, I pay you even more money. :)

Not even during your statutory break?

No employer gets my soul. My fingertips, maybe.
