hi everyone i am going to get the 2007 DK six pack at the end of the year and i was wondering what is the smallest back sprocket that will fit on the stock hub. i want to run a 25-9 gearing. will the stock hub be able to run this or will i have to wait untill i get new rims untill i can change the gearing and if so what hub will i have to get with the rims so that i can run the 25-9 gearing

You need a new hub to change the gearing... you can't have a 25-9 gearing if you have a 13 tooth freewheel. 13 does not equal 9
To be able to run this, you need to buy a new backwheel with a 9 tooth cassette hub.
yeh i know that but my question is can i run a 9 tooth sprocket on the DK hub that comes witht the DK or will i have to get new rims

If it is a free wheel(which it is on the DK Six Pack), then the smallest you can run is 13t in the back. To go smaller than that, you will need to get a new rear wheel with a cassette hub.

Isn't that what I said?

THis post is five months too early.
i am not a noob and gunzofsteel 921 you told me that a 13tooth sprocket doesn't equaal a 9tooth. i think i know that, i am not dumb but my question was; can i run a 13 tooth on the stock DK hub and i got the answer that i needed so thank you chorusXtwo. when i wreck the stock rims i will get some new ones with a cassette hub. and lunchbox why is this post 5 months early the 2007 DK six pack is already out in the shops because i was having a look at one back in july. they come out in the July time of the year before.

Hey Jono, did you bother to read my whole post? I said something like this... "To be able to run this, you need to buy a new backwheel with a 9 tooth cassette hub."
yes i read it all and thats all i needed. that last part to tell me what i needed. i didn't need the first bit about a 13 tooth sprocket not being a 9 tooth.

It's early because you plan on buying this at the end of the year.
yeah and thats why i am trying to see what spares i will get when i get my bike. anyways what do yous think of the Four Pack. i will be able to change the gearing on it because it has a cassette hub abd has a lot better componenets. so what do you reckon is it worth the extra money.

If your gonna spend more money like that, there are better options than the four pack... such as the Fit Flow... or the new top of the line Stolen bikes actually.
but i would really like to stick with the Dk because i want the straight cable and i like the chrome back rim with the black front rim and overall look of the bike. i dont really like the look of the fits to be honest.

DK really isn't that great, and their frames all have bad reputations. You can get a straight cable, chrome back rim, black front rim, and a better bike elsewhere. If you are going to be spending that much money, the DK isn't the way to go. Check out the new Stolen bikes, they come stock with low gearing ratios.

i have a 2007 dk sixpack, you cant use a 9t freewheel,it comes with the 13t odyssey freewheel,i run 30t 13t,in order to do 25t 9t your gonna have to replace your hub and get a 9t casette, like others said if you are goin to drope a lot of money i whould suggest you buy a fit,but if you want a good trail bike stay with the sixpack,u dont need small gearing to ride trails but if you are going to use the sixpack for street i whould deff buy something else

No kidding you can't use a 9t freewheel... that doesn't happen to exist.

i wasnt aware they made 9t FREEWHEELS
omg they dont
they do make nine tooth sprockets
have a look at this link and look at the big chunky ones. then on the dropdown menu you can choose what size to get and they have the option of a 9 tooth cog. http://www.danscomp.com/products.php?cat=PARTS&show=FREEWHEELS
ChorusXTwo

Uhm... those are 9t cogs for cassette hubs, not freewheels. You can't change just the cog on freewheels, you have to change out the whole freewheel to change the size.

And there is no such thing as a 9 tooth sprocket.. what you are attempting to get is not a sprocket... its a hub with a 9 tooth cog or driver, depending on which hub you are attempting to purchase.

omg they dont
watch your words next time.
dont worry about the 9 tooth freewheel i know where i can get one and thats all i need to know but my question was is the Four Pack alrite for park riding. and yous said no, other bikes would be. so show me some links to the other bikes that are good for park. remember i want a bike with a straight cable.

uh, if a 9t freewheel exists, I would very much like to see one.
Anyways, while you said you didn't like the look of Fit bikes, I would still highly recommend the Fit Team or the Fit Flow(the one with brakes) complete bikes. The Fit Flow has a 30-11 gear ratio. I don't really know why you would need anything smaller.
