Hi,
I did a short trip over the last few days. The panniers weighed about 20 pounds, the distances averaged 50 miles. Nothing too bad. What I didn't realise is that the 2nd day would have mile long hills.
That took a lot out of me, and now that the trip is over I need to recuperate fast. In a month I leave for a supported trip, this was just a training ride for that. The good news is that my bike will weigh 20 pounds less, the bad news is that I will be facing mountains instead of hills.
As soon as I recover I plan on riding up the local mountains 2 or 3 times for my training rides. I have a month, and I feel confident I can pull it off. But if you have any suggestions I'd like to hear them.
I am especialy curious if there is a way to use a HRM to avoid getting wiped out on a hard multiday trip.
