I run Continental Ultrasport tires and they seem pretty good. A ***** to get on but they ride smooth. Dunno about wear/puncture resistance... only had them for about 200 miles.

The Paselas are a sweet buy for a pretty light tire, but my money's still on the Armadillos when it comes to raw puncture resistance. BTW I've had Pasela TourGuards in the past and did just pick up a pair of 700x35's, not saying they're bad or anything.
Does the bike have hook-bead rims, by the way?

CAUTION Rando, I asked a similiar question about a month ago and recieved a timely reminder from Cudak888. Unlike 700C rims, not all 27" rims will accomodate high pressure tires like the Continental Ultrasports. If your rims have the bead to catch the edge of the high pressure tires, then disregard this post. But if you have the old steel rims or low end alloy rims, your rims may not be capable of holding a tire that requires 100PSI. I'm currently running 90PSI Kenda's on my Fuji that has steel rims. I purchased them at Dick's. Nashbar also sells a couple of tires that run at 90 PSI under their own name.

My local Wal-mart just restocked their bicycle section with new tires including 27 X 1 1/4 tires. The new tires are Kevlar and come folded in a square box.

My girlfriend's bike has these and she hasn't had a flat, um, ever... in a year of commuting through DC. So they're good tires!
