Holy smokes......

They are actually going to spend 5.6 million + bucks on this project... It will connect Broward County (just north of Dade county - Miami) from one end to the other....

That will be from the west-most developed part of the county (everglades) all the way to the east coast !!!

One thing that I didn't like about it is that it doesnt completely make it to the beaches ... there are 2 major beaches that are within 5 miles of the end of the trail.. Fort lauderdale beach, and Hollywood Beach ... I hope they can integrate that part at some point because it would really make it complete.

Here is a LINK (http://www.co.broward.fl.us/greenways/SR84.htm) to the pictures and details....

Once this trail is finished, there should be plenty of people that would be willing to convert to the teachings of velo-Jesus...

Lets hope so !!!!!!!

Perhaps, but will it actually go anywhere practical?

What bugs me more then anything else is that the majority of these so called "bike path" projects are basically paved-over nature trails that go from nowhere to nowhere (and are out-of-the-way enough to allow access for nothing in between), or they are nothing but fiddily road restripings for a 3-feet wide, diamond-marked outer "cycle" lane.

I won't hold my breath until I see a genuine cycle highway that is practical and accessable for commuter cyclists.

Take care,
