what sized headset wrench is required to adjust this? theres a few different sizes of headset wrenches and I'm unsure. dumb question, might as well ask. all i'd need would be that one wrench correct?

You need two wrenches, one should be a 32 mm "headset" (i.e. thin) wrench to set and hold the top race flats. The second can be a regular 32 mm open end or adjustable to tighten the top nut. Also note that headset nuts and races have octagonal (8-sided) wrench flats, not 6 like almost all other fasteners.
