I bought a track bike on ebay, it has 1/8 chain, 1/8 cogs but a 3/32 chainring on a 130mm bcd crank. I'm having a hard time finding 130mm 1/8 chain rings, is it a bad idea to mix and match 3/32 and 1/8?

Or, where can I find a 144 bcd crank for not too much money? The bike is a 2005 fuji track pro, what types of crank will work with the bottom bracket?

as long as the chain is wider than the cog or ring you're fine. 1/8" chain works on 3/32" components. not the other way around.

and which cranks came on the 05's? was that miche? i believe they are 135 and business cycles sells them (either way, you can get rings at business cycles) stronglight makes a good 130 bcd 1/8" chainring. i'll dig up the link.

convientantly Im selling a lightly used pair of FSA vigorelli track cranks. 144 bcd, comes with a 49tooth ring, and ISIS BB.

130 mms? isnt that campy and shimano BCD? actually yes u can mix both as long at the chain is 1/8 obviously.

Secondly as long as u know what kind and lenght or the BB axle u have in there more than somebody can tell u what it fits there. Since I'm a campy/italian track dude, is hard for me figure it out what kind of bb u have there but I assume u have an isis or something shimano compatable stuff in there.

Good luck :)

130mm is typical road bdc. You can mix parts that way, but it will be a bit smoother if you get a 1/8th chainring. the sugino messenger comes with a 1/8th chainring but is 130mm bdc:
