After a few weeks of debate I added OLN to my dish programming. The reward came in actually watching my first road race..I can't remember all of the specs. but the race took place in Danbury CT and was won by Team Saturn. The only thing I could do was sit on the edge of my couch and smack my wife on the knee and say "That guy is going faster after 146 miles than I will ever go in my life!" An observation that hit even closer to home was that as the motorcycle tracking the two breakaway leaders had to go through two gear changes on the final sprint for the finish and you could see the camera jerk up slightly with each change, since I ride a bike and motorcycle this was sort of an epiphany for me. I vowed never to use the little chainring on my road bike again. However, the speeds of the pack of riders up the hills helped me remember that they were actually humans!

I am not one to sit and watch football, basketball, etc., and I never would have believed I would watch cycling. But I am mesmerized by it - the speed, the agility, the conditioning! I enjoy watching and guessing at team tactics. I like watching the breakaways. Who would ever have heard of Michele Gobbi if he hadn't jumped out front day after day. Watching the Giro coverage was great. I am looking forward to the Tour.

Ive been taping the Tour off of ESPN for about 5 or 6 years now and I love it. 20 days of the best racing you'll ever see.

Recently at our new home I got cable hooked up so I can watch it this year, but right now I can find no information that indicates the Tour will be on ESPN.

I see that it will be covered on OLN.

Does anyone know how to get OLN through cable?

I guess I should call my cable provider here in Grand Rapids, MICHIGAN 49418.

Are you getting the OLN channel in the US or Canada?

thanks.....................................................................

Getting OLN in Boise, but it is on the big dollar package.

You're making me jealous. AT&T Broadband dropped OLN from my basic lineup last winter and added it to their "digital-pay-through-the-nose" lineup.

Even my wife, who is not yet a cyclist but supports my efforts, likes watching bike races. Actually I think she likes seeing the scenery in other countries. :)

I guess I'll have to get Dish Network. How much is it anyway? And where can I get it without signing a contract?

You guys should try living in the UK. We used to have a half hour highlights program each night on free TV. But that channel has decided it can't find enough space for a half hour of cycling, despite viewing figures rising year on year.
