A question for the fooster bike riders.....what type of bike do you (mainly) ride?

I had to sadly vote "road". I prefer riding my MTB, but with the closest trails 35-45 mins away, I find myself on the road a lot more than the mtb these days. Of course, the good part is the fitness I'm getting and when I did get out with the Thursday night group MTB ride, I wasn't tail end charlie any more.

With great shame and embarassment I must admit to having been doing almost solely road riding lately.

The real question is what is wrong with my giant. I'd ride it, but until I make a new set of bushings, I'm grinding metal every time I ride it.

I have 2 BMX bikes. My main one is built piece by piece and cost over $1600! It's an oddball though...It has MTB lock-on grips, a Cruiser type seat, and a Cane Creek Thudbuster seatpost.

I ride a road bike, but, seeing as about 90% of 'Mountain Bikes' never really see any trails, I go places on it that most mountain bikes would never see.

Like up a STEEP single track path yesterday... loose dirt, every pedal stroke caused the back wheel to slip... but I powered up it while someone else - on a mountain bike - watched from the bottom in disbelief. Never did get him to try it... he rode a mile out of his way to go around. :p

Not being a fan of the Euro look, that's a very good thing in my book! :roflmao:

Is it still a road bike if it has fenders, lights, rack, and non-drop handle bars?
If not then I ride a commuter.

I ride a road bike (2004 Bianchi Vigorelli). It's light and fast. Most of the roadies give me a double take because I wear more or less mtb clothing. Even my pedals are mtb with mtb shoes. This bike suits me because the path I take is not my fault, not your fault, but asphalt. :D

Roadie, but I also hit the trails from time to time.

other. cyclocross. it's tougher than my road bike, lighter and quicker than my mountain bike. i ride it around town and on trail rides. i really only ride the road bike on group rides, and i can't remember the last time i rode my mountain bike. just don't need anything that beefy around here.

Road bike...but I have to say it's mostly because I'm chicken. We've got great MTB trails here in Austin, but some of them are pretty hairy, and I haven't gotten around to developing any offroad abilities.

Fixie although the frame is a cyclocross frame with track ends making it suitable for either fixed wheel or single speed freewheel. Whatever bike time remaining gets split between the mtb and roadie. Fixie's too much fun for me not to ride it. :)
