- i'd check w/the LBS at 24th and Central Ave. - good folks! they seem to be up on all the local, regional, and state distance rides and events...

Wow, old thread. I'm planning a trip through FL and bought some Adventure Cycling Association maps. Unfortunately I don't think they have a route that covers your entire trip, but you could take a look at their maps and see if any of them would be useful. If that doesn't help start looking on google for websites about FL trails. When I was planning my trip it seemed like FL had some of the best (and longest) nature trails of any of the states I'm going through.

Maybe take the Suncoast Trail and try and convect it to the Withlacoochee State Trail somewhere near Floral city. That should get you as far north as Dunnellon which is about fifty miles or so south of Gainesville.

So far I have the trip planned as: Pinellas Trail to Suncoast Trail to Withlacooche State Trail.
I found some connector routes previously used on bikely.com to link these up. Hopefully I can plan a safe route for the last 50 miles.
