i bit a hole through my toungue when i was in preschool....somehow one of the lymph node thingys got all swollen and it has never went down. Its just a lump about the size of a lima bean stuck in my tongue and its been there most of my life.

The docters said they could cut it out if i wanted but its not doing any harm.

I used to know a girl who pierced her tounge with a bristle from a comb.

Have you ever thought about tongue reduction surgery to avoid future problems?

It was a normal afternoon. I was snacking on some dried fruits from a bag after knowing it had a partially hydrogenated oil in it changing my view with it. I was having a conversation w/ my sister when she made me laugh. The fruit in my mouth moved somewhere causing me to move my jaw while biting down on the tounge at the same time. Them bam, i bit the mofo out of it and it bled like a mother. All is good now. I went to fridays and got stuff on a skillet that ended up burning my mouth. Bad mouth day today.

my aunt bit her tongue when she was young, and she bit an artery. My pop said it bled for a couple of days before anyone really noticed. I was like "owww!!!!" when I heard it. :( Not sure about anatomy, but it bled a bit I guess...

I have a bad habit of placing my tonque between my teeth when concentrating. In middle school, we used to be able to "pop" our lockers by pulling up really hard on the lock/latch without entering a combination first. So I am in the process of popping my locker and the door flies open and hits me in the chin, hard. Unfortunately my tongue is inbetween my teeth, forcing me to bite my tongue. I immediately taste blood and head to bathroom. After a few minutes, cannot stop flow of blood, so I head to the school office. They ask me what is wrong and my mouth is so full of blood that I cannot speak. I have to spit this mouthful of blood out so that I can tell them I bit my tongue. They call my mother, who has to leave work and come take me and my bloody tongue to doctors office for stitches. I will never forget sitting there with a nurse holding my tongue with forceps so that the doctor could inject painkiller and sew the thing shut, right in front of my nose.

Second story, working at a boat dealership service department and a flatbed tow truck pulls onto the service drive with a boat and trailer on the back. The driver comes in and tells us he has a bent tongue. Our service manager, without missing a beat, replies "Tho do I" like his tongue is swollen up and he can't talk. We all just bust out laughing. One of those spontaneous funny moments that you have to be there to truly appreciate.

I have problems with biting the insides of my cheeks more than biting my tongue. I can't help it, I have chubby cheeks :(

as long as you dont bite your own thong, you're allright by me:eek: :p

I tend to bite the insides of my lower lips all the time. We're talking like 2-3 times per week, and if I get a good bite, I'll re-bite it repeatedly. It makes me furious, and I have no idea what causes it. Probably my crooked teeth!
