Hi everyone,
My wife has a feminine bike with a small triangle (seat tube, top tube, and downtube). Originally, I fit two standard Performance Bike water bottle cages. However, bottles would fall out of the seat tube cage on a regular basis (once a month). In response, I bought a set of Cat Eye plastic cages that have a more snug fit. Only then did I realize the true culprit. The braze-ons are quite close to the bottom bracket. Consequently, the water bottle would rest on the downtube such that a jolt to the bike can dislodge the bottle.
What I need is a cage where the bottom lip--what supports the bottle from underneath--is close to the bottom slot for the braze-on. The lip on the Cat Eye cage is something like an inch underneath the bottom braze-on. If I can find one where that distance is something like a quarter of an inch, I think that a bottle can fit in the area. I would also prefer a plastic cage since they don't seem to leave marks on the bottles.
Any suggestions?
