I just started road biking last weekend, and I am hooked!! My fiance rides and he bought me my first road bike. The next day, I rode 30 miles!! I loved it!! My bike has been in the shop since Sunday getting smaller handle bars, mine were too big for my midget self. I am riding 30 miles again this weekend and I cant wait!! My bike will be ready today, so if this weather clears up, I'm off!

I live in Houston, but am originally from East Texas. I plan to move back there soon.

Welcome from another fellow Texan.

I also live in the Houston Area. Do you guys do any club rides? I have really started to love the club rides.

Hey there and welcome cori514 to the forums...Sounds like you've got the cycling bug that all of us here on the forums have also, that's great!!:) It also sounds like you'll have a great time out on the road this year, if you just got a road bike and now are already riding 30 miles and looking forward to another good weekend, that's great, I'm sure you'll enjoy it both on the road and here on the forums!!

I also love road biking and tours and all that kind of stuff, except up here in michigan it's still freezing and I can't get out side yet, but spring will come, for now I'm just doing indoor training to get ready for the season...But you have much better weather down there I'm sure, so enjoy and welcome again.

Welcome Cori!!!

Plan on meeting up with us at the HHH in August. We should have several forum members at that ride. If not some ride before.

PS: Lotek is better looking that he sounds.

Greetings and salutations! Many welcomes and I am glad that you are so enthusiastic about this sport of ours!

Since you're riding in Houston, be aware of your surroundings (cars, trucks, glass, etc.).

Keep the positive attitude and I hope you pass it on to someone else.

Howdy!

Welcome to the forum and welcome to your new life as a 'roadie'! :D I ride up in the Montgomery, Magnolia, and Woodlands areas and the riding is nice once you get out of Harris County. Make sure you get your bike out soon -- this weekend is shaping up to be the first in a while with really decent weather, so take advantage of it!
