I can't remember name of trail, but one starts from very near the NE corner of SouthCenter and goes along on the West shore of the Duwamish and further south both shores. As I recall you can pick it up from the edge of the northeasten most parking lot and it goes East along the north side of a small Office building to the river. Poke around a bit, the streets in the SC business complex connect with it in many places After you go south a few miles it either connects with a trail or you can cross to trail that runs between Renton, Auburn and Points South, that trail is almost a straight line north and south. I'm sorry I can't remember where it starts.
When I lived in Tukwila, and elswhere, I found that Metsker County maps were very useful in planning rides, King, Pierce etc. They can be found at REI, sport stores, hunting outlets map shops etc. Pick out some loops to BlackDiamond, Enumclaw, Fall City, Snoqualmie etc. You could hop on the Ferry to Bremerton and ride up to Winslow and vice versa, and don't forget to stop in the Bakery in Poulsbo.

Hmmm.. that sounds like the Duwamish River Trail which then connects to the Green River Trail somewhere near I-405 (just a little west of the Interurban Trail). The GRT then basically parallels (in a zig-zag fashion) the Interurban Trail to the west until you get to Kent where it crosses over SR167 (following the river) and then proceeds to parallel the IUT to the east but stops in Auburn.

Some other good map suggestions:

I've also found the Terragraphics series of map booklets to be very helpful. They're a tad expensive though but are convenient to carry and the routes are very nicely detailed with elevation information. My favourite is "Touring Seattle by Bicycle" by Peter Bowers. It has a miniature pull-out map in addition to the "sectional" route guides.

I also recommend "Touring the Islands (Bicycling in the San Juan, Gulf, and Vancouver Islands)".
